Rup Nagala, MD

Dr. Rup Nagala joined the Oakes Medical Center in 1978 and has since owned and operated it as Southeast Medical Center.  He heads the Obstetric and Surgery Department.  Dr. Rup was instrumental in making state of the art diagnostic equipment such as U ⁄ S, MRI, CT Scan, & other services available to the area.  He is Board Certified in Family Practice, Geriatrics, Sports Medicine, and Phlebology.  Southeast Medical Center has grown under his supervision and expertise to be one of the largest healthcare networks in the southeast region of North Dakota. Dr. Rup also serves as Medical Director for Four Season´s Healthcare Center in Forman and Oakes Good Samaritan Center in Oakes.


 

Vani Nagala, MD

Dr. Vani Nagala started her practice of medicine in Oakes in 1984.  She currently serves as Chief of Staff at Oakes Community Hospital.  Dr. Vani is also Medical Director for the St. Rose Care Center in LaMoure and North Dakota Veteran’s Home in Lisbon.  She has served as Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of North Dakota since 1986 and has served on the ND Board of Medical Examiners.  Dr. Vani is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Geriatrics.  Through her Internal Medicine practice, Dr. Vani has developed a special interest in Cardiology.  Her personal goal is to provide quality, professional, state of the art health care with a personal touch which will endure in rural North Dakota.


 

Scott Harris, MD

Dr. Harris joined the Southeast Medical Center staff in October 2009. He is trained in general surgery dealing with vascular issues, as well as its diagnosis and treatment; in addition to, the care and treatment of chronic wound healing. Dr. Harris is also involved in general practice medicine. He received a Bachelors Degree in Biology from Mayville State University, and then went on to the Medical College of Wisconsin at Milwaukee to do his residency in surgery. Dr. Harris began his practice at MeritCare in Fargo in 1984 and in 1989 under him the first kidney transplant was done.


 

Stefanie Gefroh, MD

Dr. Stefanie Gefroh joined the Southeast Medical Center in June 2009.  She is board-certified in OB/GYN, and specializes in Obstetrics and Gynecology, but also practices general primary care.  In addition, she is a member of the American Medical Association, American College of OB/GYN, Central Association of Obstetrics and Gynecology, North Dakota Medical Association and the North Dakota Obstetrics and Gynecology Society.  Dr. Gefroh was previously a staff physician at Innovis Health in Fargo, ND.


 

Thomas Lechner, MD

Dr. Thomas Lechner joined the Southeast Medical Center in December 2009. He received his Doctor of Medicine from the American University of the Caribbean, School of Medicine. Dr. Lechner is a family practice physician treating patients from newborns to geriatrics. Recently he was a family practice physician at United Clinic ⁄ Sanford Unit where he worked in intensive care, outpatient pediatrics and adult medicine, outreach family practice as well as nursing home medical director and director of outreach Emergency medicine. "Taking care of people, from the patient and their health to their family, their spiritual health and to their financial well being are most important to me", states Dr. Lechner.
